Our Tree Planting Services

Residential Tree Planting

From backyard shade trees to front yard ornamentals, our residential planting services focus on species that thrive in a semi-arid climate. We help homeowners select, source, and plant trees that fit both aesthetic preferences and functional needs. We consider sunlight exposure, soil type, and neighborhood restrictions to ensure the best results.

Commercial Landscape Tree Planting

We work with business owners and property managers to enhance storefronts, office parks, and industrial sites. Our commercial planting improves public image and increases commercial property value. Strategic placement helps create shade for parking lots, walkways, and outdoor seating. We tailor each planting plan to accommodate foot traffic, signage visibility, and long-term growth.

Native Tree Restoration Projects

For environmental groups and municipalities, we offer native species planting to restore riparian areas and open spaces. These projects are critical to improving regional biodiversity and ecosystem services. Our team ensures each tree is planted to thrive in its native habitat.

Urban Tree Planning & Planting

Urban development demands smart, sustainable green infrastructure. We work with city planners and developers to introduce trees that mitigate urban heat islands and beautify streetscapes in densely populated neighborhoods. Our selections prioritize root containment, canopy space, and long-term sustainability in constrained urban zones.

Agricultural Windbreak Installation

Farmers rely on tree windbreaks to reduce crop damage and soil loss. We provide planning and installation of tree rows tailored to the needs of local farms. Our windbreaks are custom-designed based on prevailing wind directions, field layouts, and crop sensitivity. We use fast-growing, durable species that offer multi-season protection.

Site Analysis and Consultation

Every successful planting starts with proper planning. We offer on-site evaluations, soil testing, and climate assessments to recommend the best trees and planting strategies for long-term success. Our process includes irrigation planning, spacing assessments, and long-term maintenance recommendations. This ensures healthy growth and the highest possible return on your tree investment.

Benefits of Professional Tree Planting

Improved Air Quality

Trees act as natural air filters by absorbing carbon dioxide, ozone, and sulfur dioxide. Strategically planted trees can improve air quality and create healthier living environments. They also trap particulate matter on their leaves and bark, helping to clean the air we breathe. Increasing tree coverage supports respiratory health and lowers public health risks.

Enhanced Property Value

Homes and commercial properties benefit from increased curb appeal with mature, well-placed trees. In addition to curb appeal, trees offer a sense of maturity and prestige to any landscape. Buyers are likelier to invest in homes with established trees that offer comfort, beauty, and environmental value.

Energy Savings

Properly placed trees can reduce cooling costs by providing natural shade. In a hot Central Valley climate, residents can reduce summer energy bills with the cooling effects of tree canopies. Trees planted on homes' west and south sides can block afternoon sun and lower indoor temperatures by up to 10 degrees. Over time, these savings can amount to thousands of dollars per household.

Erosion Control and Soil Health

Tree roots stabilize the soil, reducing runoff and erosion. This benefit is particularly valuable for agricultural zones and residential developments with uneven terrain. Trees help preserve property boundaries and protect water quality in nearby creeks and irrigation canals by limiting soil displacement during heavy rains or irrigation.

Wildlife Habitat Creation

Native trees offer shelter and food sources for birds, insects, and small mammals. Planting species that thrive in our region supports biodiversity and helps maintain ecological balance in urban and rural settings. In agricultural landscapes, this can enhance crop productivity by attracting natural pest controllers. Tree habitats contribute to vibrant, thriving green spaces even in city parks and residential zones.

Noise Reduction and Privacy

Trees create natural sound barriers, reducing noise pollution from roads. Dense tree lines can block unwanted views and mute traffic or industrial sounds. Evergreens and thick-foliage species are especially effective in forming living fences. This enhances peace and comfort for property owners and creates tranquil environments even in busier parts of town.

Planting a tree may seem simple, but it becomes a decisive contribution to the future when done with knowledge, care, and purpose. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What is the best time of year to plant trees in Modesto?

The best time for tree planting in Modesto is during the fall or early spring when temperatures are cooler and rainfall naturally supports root development. Planting during these seasons reduces transplant shock and helps young trees establish a strong root system before the heat of summer or the cold of winter.

  • Which tree species grow best in Modesto?

Popular species include Valley Oak, Western Redbud, Chinese Pistache, and Crape Myrtle. These trees are well-adapted to the local climate and soil, providing shade, beauty, and resilience against drought and pests common to the area.

  • How long does it take for a newly planted tree to mature?

Tree maturity depends on the species and growing conditions. Fast-growing trees may reach maturity within 5 to 10 years, making them great for quick shade. Hardwoods like oaks and walnuts take much longer—often decades—but provide lasting value and durability once mature.

  • Do I need a permit to plant a tree on my property?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.
  • Can I plant trees close to my home or driveway?

Yes, but it’s important to select tree species with root systems that won’t damage foundations, driveways, or underground utilities. Our experts evaluate your property to recommend appropriate planting locations that balance aesthetics with safety and long-term growth.

  • Will my trees need ongoing maintenance?

Yes, newly planted trees require regular watering, especially in their first few years, as well as mulching to retain moisture and reduce weeds. Occasional pruning is also important to develop a strong structure and remove damaged or crossing branches, promoting healthy growth.

  • How deep should a tree be planted?

Trees should be planted so the root flare—the area where roots spread at the base of the trunk—is visible above ground. Planting too deep can suffocate roots, cause rot, and invite pests. Proper planting depth is critical for tree health and stability.

  • How do I protect young trees from pests and weather extremes?

Protection methods include installing tree guards to prevent damage from animals, applying mulch to moderate soil temperature and retain moisture, and following strategic watering schedules tailored to seasonal needs. These practices help young trees survive heatwaves, frost, and wildlife pressures common in Modesto.

What our customers say

A row of black stars on a white background.

Hello all. We called Diillon last week for a quote to trim back our palm trees around our backyard pool. Made the appointment for yesterday, and they ( Dillon and Steve) showed up right on time, got right to work, and had all 7 of the trees done and ALL the branches cleaned up in just 2.5 hours. Very friendly, good communications, and very respectful. We have had them here before, and they also have done work for our son in Oakdale. I will always call them for future work.

These guys did a great job of removing a 50+ year old Hollywood juniper. It was growing next to a fence in a backyard utility easement. A pool was on the opposite side of the fence. None of the surrounding landscaping was disturbed. No complaints from the pool owner. They cleaned up both yards to our satisfaction. Everyone on their crew were pleasant and friendly. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Fantastic job! Rodney and his crew were very professional and did an amazing job cutting down 3 very large redwood trees in our yard. They showed up on time; the price was very reasonable. The job ended up taking longer than expected so they had to come back to grind the stumps. Again they were there when they said they’d be there and did a great job cleaning up. I would use them again and highly recommend them!!

Clark's tree service cut down three coastal oaks on our property and ground the stumps. They also pruned our two big sycamores. They were very professional, respectful of our property, and cleaned up everything. They were fairly priced. We were very satisfied and would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks for a great job.
